Stopped by to photograph this historic garage along the Mother Road, but it’s so cluttered I didn’t even bother to pull my camera from my bag. Then the owner let loose his three viscous dogs, scaring the bejesus out of my wife.

While Herman was not able to help us, he sent us to R G Truck Services in Gallup, NM and he sent us to the best place with the most honest people. So grateful to have stumbled upon Herman's Garage and to be pointed in the right direction. There is integrity in the auto repair industry and it is alive and well in NM.

Going cross country our old Ford RV had engine trouble - acted like vapor lock. Herman let us camp the night in his lot and got us going in the morning. He suggested putting 1 bottle of ATF in each tank of gas, and that worked. The younger college grad guys at Ford dealers said Herman was wrong - it could not have vapor lock because the fuel pump was in the tank.
