Rudy's Service Center

Coming from the land of mechanics, this dude doesnt like doing jobs if he doesnt have time for it. The first, last and only interaction i had with Rudy told me nothing but not having time for me.. beware from this companies services, there are plenty of other mechanics who can service the customer and the car at a much better rate than here. My car has been fixed but not on the account Rudys advise.

I used Rudy's service center on 4 occasions starting in December 2024. The first 3 times were for some minor repairs. For each visit, I was told that the turnaround would be 2 to 4 weeks. Unlike other service centers Rudy would let you leave your vehicle in a secure lot until he could get to it. I do not live in Del Rio, so this was convenient for me to have a place to leave my truck as it waited for the repair. Rudy's service center, has two employees Rudy's wife and Rudy. When you leave your vehicle, you tell his wife what you want done, she will give you a ballpark time frame, once Rudy has evaluated the problem, she will call with the estimate. For simple problems this works well and up to this time my problems had been simple. However, this time my truck problems were beyond Rudy's c

Oh so mean and rude! I had a road trip vacation planned Memorial Day weekend and whole following week leaving after work on Friday. On Thursday lunch, my air conditioning went out. Rudy was recommended to me. I went by, he said he could not get to it until the next week. I am sure I rolled my eyes or something to that effect as that meant all my vacation plans were shot. Whatever I did he thought was about him instead of about my vacation. So I do take partial blame! But Hoo boy he lit into me told me to get out of his shop and never come back. Yelling to himself like a mad man! "people coming in here and expecting miracles they have no idea!" I am not perfect. I have had bad days too so wanted to try again later. To be completely honest, after reading some complaints from customers about Rudy's rudeness and lack of professionalism, I almost decided to take my car somewhere else. I am extremely glad that I didn't go with the negative recommendations. I was aware that the clutch was malfunctioning in some form of fashion, but I didn't feel particularly confident enough at installing one. Additionally, I might have had to leave my car for three weeks due to potential delays in parts and the fact that I would be on vacation/leave the following week. Rudy and his wife offered to hold the car for me until I returned, at no additional cost. Rudy is the most honest mechanic I’ve ever met. We had a blown engine and he helped us unload our car, looked at our vehicle, and then gave us advice on what to do all without charge.
