S K Performance Transmission

Needed a rebuild for my '65 Mustang C4 transmission. After doing much troubleshooting and trying to fix my issues myself, I threw in the towel and took it to SK Performance. Steve was up front right from the start. Told me the turn around time and the estimated cost for a total rebuild. I dropped my car off on a Wednesday evening, on Friday Steve called to tell me he had the whole this apart and asked if I wanted to come down and take look at it. I showed up and he showed me every part, laid out on his bench. He showed me every worn part and compared the worn parts and seals to new ones. He doesn't work on the weekends, but on the following Tuesday (4 working days) he called me and told me its rebuilt and installed. Steve is absolutely awesome! I brought him a T5 that was in terrible shape, filled with mud and water, and he completely went through it for me. He made every effort make sure any questionable parts were replaced and offered up budget minded options every time he found something. Didn’t upsell me on anything and was honest about what I needed vs. what I didn’t need for my application. He is an excellent communicator; called me every day with a status. He had it all finished up within a week. He had me bring him some of the external parts like the yoke and TO bearing to make sure everything was going to fit up right. SK is an excellent transmission shop.

Steve was a referral, and couldn't be happier with his honesty and workmanship. Very passionate about his craft, and a wealth of mastery/knowledge. The reason I decided to go with Steve on rebuilding my 4L60E, was because he was really honest, and by talking to him, I trusted him. Got my trans back a head of schedule and within my budget. Give him a call, it's hard to fine good people these days. Get it done right the first time, so you don't have to pay twice.

I took the gamble and came all the way from northern Oregon to purchase a transmission for my truck that nobody else had. Steve was very personable and honest about the fact the transmission had been in his shop for almost two decades and he was unsure of its history. I had a transmission I put some hipo parts in . Had steve go thru it years ago. Then 6 months later I pulled my deep pan off to trade in the truck and there was a clutch disc broke in half in the pan. So it would have never held up.
