S-O-S Transmissions

I consider myself lucky, because I discovered SOS Transmission almost a year ago. I was in need of some transmission work on my 2006. I knew from the first call with Pete (owner), that I was talking with someone who lived and breathed transmissions. We agreed that I would bring the car in so he could take a closer inspection. I was impressed with how much time he took to explain the condition of my car; answering all my questions and he actually recommended we try some more cost effective solutions to curve the problem. When I did have to make the repair he explained everything in detail. What mechanic do you know who would asked you sincerely whether you will have transportation to get around while your car is being repaired? Kind of a "thow back" to the way car fixing used to be done. I had many dealings with Pete and he treated me fairly and no surprises. Goes above and beyond, drives far to pick you up and understands the importance of loyalty. I took my car to SOS Transmission at Manheim at Lake in Stone Park and I’m very pleased with the results. The quality of the work is excellent and they only replaced the parts that were needed to get it fixed right. Even though there are repair shops closer to where I live in the suburbs, my father-in-law recommended them and has been going there for years as he’s always received honest work from them as well. It’s worth going the extra mile as I feel they went the extra mile for me.
