We purchased wheel and tire protection when buying our vehicle through AutoNation, and unfortunately the claims experience with Safeguard Products International has been incredibly disappointing. We recently had a simple issue — a nail in our tire. What should have been a straightforward claim turned into hours on the phone just to receive approval and a claim number. We were told to proceed and submit the claim. Now, after the repair has already been completed, we’re being asked for additional highly specific documentation and receipts and even told to fax paperwork. In 2026. Fax. The process feels intentionally complicated and unnecessarily difficult for something that should be routine. This has not been smooth, efficient, or customer-focused in any way. Safe guard auto warranty is horrible to deal with. I bought a used car bravo car. It came with a safe guard warranty ( 6 months bumper to bumper/ 6000 miles) is what the dealership told me. I had an issue with the headlights soon after getting it. I called safe guard to get the issue resolved. They looked up my zip code and told me I had 2 choices. Unfortunately I chose the dealership closest to my home ( worst dealership experience ever). Decided not to let them do the work. I called safe guard back and explained the problem they said I could take it to any dealership or repair facility. I got an appointment at a Dodge dealership since ny car is a dodge. I give one star because no zero star can be selected. I had a very disappointing experience with Safe-Guard Products International regarding a dent protection plan I purchased through my dealership. I had a small dent repaired for $154, which was clearly within the coverage limits of the plan. After calling Safe Guard Products International to submit my claim, it was denied because I did not contact the administrator before completing the repair. While I understand that this requirement is stated in the contract, it was not clearly emphasized at the time of purchase, and I was never informed that failing to call first would result in a complete denial. Is zero stars a thing?!! I canceled my gap insurance Since my truck was a total loss and I hadn’t had the policy 7 months. I submitted all paperwork and was told that everything was closed and I should be receiving a refund. I was told it should take 2 to 3 weeks. It has taken almost 2 months. When I call the phone number they transfer me to a cancellation department. When I speak with a cancellation department, they defer to the lienholder. The lienholder has not received the refund. Absolute scam. Unprofessional and no communication. Ridiculous!!
DO NOT BUY! They so clearly have fake accounts giving 5-star reviews as well lol... worst company ever!!! This has been the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. I purchased this coverage when I bought my new car, and while on a road trip 1,000 miles from home, I ran over a nail in my tire on a Saturday. The Subaru service center rep and I called Safe-Guard six different times, and no one ever answered. I had no choice but to pay out of pocket for the repair. When I later requested reimbursement, they denied the claim solely because the repair wasn’t pre-approved—despite the fact that they never answered their phone.
