Signal Mountain Senior Living

As clergy, and Assisted Living chaplain throughout most of my career, I would like to express that Signal Mountain Senior living has been one of the best examples of quality and professionalism I have witnessed. The nursing director and her staff provide exemplary care and compassion, and go above and beyond to insure the residents needs are met and exceeded. It is comforting as someone in my position, to watch the interactions between the nursing staff and the residents. The residents are treated with love and dignity.

I helped my 90 year old grandparents tour here last week, just to check it out. Jennifer Jolly was our tour guide and used a hard-sell tactic after I made it clear there would be no decision made that day. She also asked me if my grandmother had dementia and was sundowning right in front of her (she was not). It was extremely inappropriate. It seemed that she thought neither my grandparents nor I had any autonomy over the situation. It’s safe to say I’m disappointed, and left disturbed by her behavior, as well as the follow-up calls to my father.

I can’t be more grateful for the people who made this hard decision easier. The compassion and kindness gave us such peace. They asked the hard questions necessary we hadn’t even thought of. This brought us the knowledge of their wisdom and compassion. Thank you for this place and peace of mind.

A few weeks ago I started researching and touring Independent and Assisted Living Apartments for my Mom without her knowledge. Mom has been diagnosed with Dementia but is very capable of living on her own, for now. She wanted me to promise i would never “put her in a home”. I took her to brunch at a retirement apartment complex and she fell in love with the idea I being in a community with folks her age and activities and meals.Then I drove her through your complex and she said” now this looks more like a cozy home. So I set up a second tour with Mindy. Mindy helped me so much the first tour . She asked all the right questions and also gave me great and very helpful feedback. After touring several facilities in Chattanooga, my father-in-law chose this facility for several reasons including the welcoming staff; the menu options in dining (if he doesn't want the meal they planned for dinner, he can order off a menu with several other options); the activities scheduled daily; and the friendliness of the other residents. We have been extremely pleased with our experience with the Signal Mountain Senior Living group and are pleased with our decision to help him move there in July 2023. While the decision to move into assisted living is a difficult, emotional and timely process for all involved (resident and family members), the staff at Signal Mountain Senior Living was with our family every step along the way in our process and continue to respond to any question
