Arrrgh! We rented an SUV for six days. I live in Boulder County; my girlfriend and I are in our late fifties and sixties, and we went up to Summit County to meet our friends. Considering how road conditions can quickly change, plus luggage and ski equipment, etc., it was better to rent an SUV than use my hatchback. We returned the SUV before our contracted time of 10 AM and took a video and photos and parked the vehicle. We dropped the proximity key off in the SIXT lockbox and went home to put up holiday decorations. At 2:11 PM I get an email saying that we have not returned the vehicle! Thankfully we have photos, a gate ticket with the time, and video! You can’t call the Boulder office, so now you are dealing with an AI bot and then a representative in Germany (+49). Mark offered a refund for the issues with a simple 3 day rental. I have yet to receive it. I have come back several times over the last several months to ask for a manager to help and everyone seems to just have their hands tied. On top of hardly staffing this counter, they can’t and have not followed through on their promises or fixed their mistakes. If you want to make it right, finally make good on your refund promise or at least reach out because I have been back several times and you haven’t bothered or the right person is never there.
This was an absolutely terrible experience. Nobody should ever rent from this location or this company!! We have been having a nightmare. We reserved a car weeks in advance, for a 5pm pick-up, for 48 hours. On the day of our pick-up, an employee named Rob called us to inform us that the car we reserved would, in fact, not be there if we came at 5pm. He told us, at around 11:30am, to get to the pickup right away. We ubered to the location as quick as we could, and got there, panicked, at 1:30-2:30pm. Rob was not there when we arrived - a different employee was, instead, and did not understand why Rob told us to come ASAP. We were informed that the car was, in fact, available, and that there was no need to arrive so early. The issue for my partner and I at this point became that if we picke
Don't rent from this Sixt location or from Sixt in general. My wife and I have rented from Sixt a number of times over the past few years, but never again. Sixt attempted to charge us for scratches and interior damage that WE pointed out to Sixt when we rented the car. And then Sixt attempted to claim that we made the issues that we had pointed out. Just ridiculous. The whole operation feels like they are trying to find ways to charge you more money. It is extremely unprofessional. I would not trust them with access to my credit card. The "nice" car is really not worth it. We rent a car for a week in Boulder at least twice a year. We will never rent from Sixt again. Save yourself a headache.
Warning. Do not rent from Sixt. They are deceitful. An agent told me unused days would be refunded; now they say it can’t be with a prepaid rental. In direct contradiction to what the agent said in person. ***Warning - the Sixt staff will pretend to care using their training scripts to fool you, but in the end they only maintain policies that screw the customer. It’s all fake. Rent elsewhere!!!
