SIXT Rent A Car NYC Long Island City

I had an excellent experience with SIXT Rent A Car at the Long Island City location in NYC. From start to finish, the process was incredibly fast and smooth. The entire team was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. I walked up to the counter and they immediately got to work, no unnecessary delays. I was in and out within about 15–20 minutes, which is impressive for a NYC rental location. I want to give a special shoutout to Donell, who assisted me during my pickup. He asked thoughtful questions to make sure I wasn’t overpaying for the E-ZPass, which I really appreciated. That level of transparency and care made a big difference. I booked a BMW, and that’s exactly what I received, a BMW X2. The car was spotless, gas tank full, smelled great, and had everything I needed to get on the road

I made a booking almost 4 months in advance and they suddenly cancelled on me 2 days before. Just said "no vehicles available" No compensation, no reachout, no idea why. If you rent from them, be ready to have backup plans Never had a rental company do this. Even Zipcar is more reliable than this.

My experience with Sixt Long Island City had a rocky beginning, but I want to highlight how impressive their customer service was in turning things around. There were some initial issues at pickup that were frustrating, however the customer service team was responsive, professional, and genuinely committed to resolving the situation. They took the time to listen, addressed my concerns efficiently, and made sure I left satisfied. Because of how well they handled the issue, I would absolutely consider renting with Sixt again. Great customer service can make all the difference, and they delivered.

I booked a BMW X5 but was given a Mercedes GLE 350 instead. While Mercedes isn’t my personal preference, the car was clean and well maintained. More importantly, Sixt’s service was professional and smooth from pickup to return. Shabab was helpful, and overall the rental experience was good despite the vehicle change. Would rent from Sixt again based on their service quality.

Shocked to find such warm hospitality and thoughtful service at a car rental place in New York! Great price and amazing people (shoutout to Blaize and team). We told them we were headed off on a roadtrip and got upgraded to a 4WD instead of the compact that we booked. This was a great start to our roadtrip and made the ride so much more comfortable, which we really appreciated. The pickup and a drop off process was also quick and easy. No wait, just ID check, explanation of the booking/insurance whatnot, sign and off you go. I also particularly liked the reminder email that I got the day before return.
