Smith Ranch Homes Homeowners' Association

My husband and I moved to Smith Ranch two years ago, after checking out many other options for senior living in the greater Bay Area. I can honestly say we have not had a moment of regret over our decision to make Smith Ranch our forever home! I won’t elaborate on all the wonderful amenities available to us, but I can tell you we are more active and engaged here than we have been in recent years. There seems to be something for everyone here, but you decide how active and engaged you want to be. I cannot imagine a better place to spend our later years.

My husband and I have lived at Smith Ranch Homes for over 4 years now. It is a unique senior independent living community of 244 condominiums on over 30 acres. The grounds are beautiful, the dining options are very good, housekeeping is included and there is always something to do. The volunteer structure provides an opportunity to actively contribute to the association. The resident/owner Board of Directors guides the strategic direction of the organization, monitors financial health and sets policies. Our professional staff manages the association and executes all of the many activities and services provided. It was a great decision to move here - ownership without the worries of outside maintenance and other home responsibilities.

Resort living without leaving home. Friendly and welcoming residents and staff. Beautiful landscaped grounds for walking and relaxing. Amazing food. What’s not to like about an on-site library, bar, swimming pool, spa, putting green, croquet, badminton, fitness classes, lectures, concerts, and valet service? Comfortable well appointed codos and villas at a wide variety of sizes and prices. Weekly housekeeping, internet, and most utilities included. One of the things I like best is the bus that takes us into San Francisco for concerts and events. The same bus also makes regular trips around Marin County for those who don’t want to drive to shops and appointments.

My parents moved into Smith Ranch 3 years ago and have been very happy. It’s a warm and welcoming community with many ways to engage with other residents and include family. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the food is delicious, and my parents love owning their condo and having a voice in the owner led HOA. So grateful for Smith Ranch!

My mother lived at Smith Ranch Homes for 7 years. She recently had to move this year (2025) to an assisted living situation due to her age and health. I just wanted to leave a review to those who are looking for a wonderful independent living experience. She loved living there and I loved coming to see her. Her condo has a beautiful view of St. Vincents to the north. She was on the 4th floor so had extra windows and high ceilings. The grounds are beautiful and there is plentiy of walking paths throughout the property. Oh, and did I mention the food? The dining is outstanding with top quality service. There's plenty to do there and it is very secure. I may move there some day myself!
