Southland Care Center

My wife, while she was a patient at Southland, found the staff to be very pleasant and professional. This applies to the WHOLE staff - from the RNs, LVNs, custodial workers, cafeteria workers, and everybody in total. The therapists were also very helpful and caring. Compared to a few other facilities she has been to in the past this was by far the best experience. My wife also thought the meals were very well prepared and tasty.

I recently visited Southland Care and was very impressed. The facility is beautiful, clean, and welcoming the moment you walk in. The staff are extremely courteous and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. During my visit, I even observed staff actively participating in training. That told me they are committed to ongoing learning and providing the best care possible for their residents. As a visitor, it gave me peace of mind knowing that Southland is not only a skilled nursing facility but also one that prioritizes professionalism, compassion, and continuous improvement. I was a patient here from Nov. 1, 2023 to mid-Dec. 2023. I'd had a cardiac arrest. I have arthritis and lost about 70% mobility in all. I was also diagnosed with C-Diff which as you know is absolutely awful. My nurses were awesome through-out it all. I had PT and OT as well. They were patient and kind, even tho I didn't feel good and would get grumpy. I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because of a couple of things that didn't have to happen. 1. I shared the room with a nice lady who was diabetic. I'm not diabetic - in fact I run low. Four times in my first four days there I had a nurse walk up to me in my bed with insulin in hand, ready to inject. Four times! I'd stop them of course and correct them. They'd look SO confused, poor things. My roomie and I thought that because our last names were

People r nice in the daytime and night it's different..Not so much on the patients...My Mom was left urine couple times with two diapers on her, which I felt was discussing. There was a nurse called Adora or a worker that took very good care of my Mom is the day...She worked on the 2nd floor which my my was in Room 221...She kept my Mom very comfortable and very cleaned..I wish all the workers could be like this....The phiscial therapy group was fantastic..Very caring and took there time with every patient I saw including my Mom...It's a nice place it just needs alot of improvement with their workers to be alittle more caring...
