I really wanted to like these guys, however, I took my truck in for an oil change and tire rotation, and they seriously looked at me with a straight face and asked for over $300 when I went to pay. The last time I bought my truck there, I had a few things done, including the oil change. At that service, the oil change was $140, which is a little higher for my truck, but not completely out of line due to the amount of synthetic oil needed. That was just a few months ago. That, along with a $70 tire rotation should have been $210 before tax and fees. When I objected to the the price of over $300, the counter person tried to explain it by saying there are price increases sometimes, and they just go with the flow…They eventually put things back to the correct pricing, however, they acted like

Some of the best service I’ve ever gotten. As a female solo traveler I find myself in a lot of situations where auto shops will take advantage and upcharge me. Or talk down to me and not take me seriously. I never for one second felt like these people were trying to take advantage. I had to wait a week for a complicated part and spent over 7 hours on their property while they fixed it. And they were super accommodating and kept me in the loop the entire time. Answered all my questions and were very transparent about pricing. Not only that but I got to meet a lot of their loyal customers and they have a great relationship with all the regulars which says a lot about the energy they put out and the quality of work they do. The person who answered the phone was extremely rude. I’ve only ever heard negative things about Spears Automotive, and this experience didn’t help. I called to get a quote for my brakes, and the woman told me that “nobody turns rotors anymore” and that I would definitely need new rotors—without even seeing my car. What’s strange is that I had just spoken with two Honda mechanics who gave me two quotes: one for new rotors and one for turning the existing ones. When I mentioned that to her, she told me to “take my car to them,” then hung up on me. I live only a couple of miles from this place, and she could have handled the conversation much more professionally. Oh well—looks like I’ll be taking my car to a Honda mechanic in town. I’ve brought two different vehicles in to this shop, it takes a lot for me to write a bad review but this is just unbelievable, my car was there for weeks on end, and when I got it back it came back with more dash lights than when I brought it in, not to mention the thing I brought it in for still didn’t get fixed, so I brought it back because everyone makes mistakes and I’m fine with that but it’s in the shop again for weeks on end, and when I got it back it seemed virtually untouched, lights still on the dash, and the issue I brought it in for the first time is still there! Even though they said parts were replaced. And I am very thankful for not being charged for the second time around but it still doesn’t fix my car after months of being there. Life Savers ! This is a tight, family owned repair shop. Super careful, done with such professionalism and knowledge. The mechanic looking after our car also gave us a road map of future things to look out for : new tires, tire alignment, changing tires around every 5000 miles. Keeping up with the oil changes. For those of us new to car servicing : think the little computer sensor reading is all you need to know ? Far from it. Hopefully you have the Spear family to set you and your car straight :) Oh and our little lemon ? Silky great ride after it's visit to Spears Automotive Spa and Repair !
