Stapp Interstate Toyota Service Center

I had a terrible experience with Stapp Interstate Toyota. I brought my Toyota Tacoma in for a misfire in cylinder 3 with only 80,000 miles on the truck. It ended up sitting there for 5 months with very poor communication the entire time. Instead of properly diagnosing the issue, it felt like they were just throwing parts at the truck. At one point they even tried to sell me a used engine for $14,000, which was shocking given the mileage and the original issue. When I finally asked them to put the truck back together so I could take it somewhere else for a second opinion, they suddenly said they found a leaking fuel line but claimed it wouldn’t fix the problem. Stood around checking out the only two Trailhunters on the lot. One was even right next to the doors. No one bothered to ask us if we wanted to get a better look at it. Usually your are mugged when you are "just looking" at a car dealership, not ignored.

Reading the reviews of others, it is like they went to a different dealership. Reading some of their other reviews (other reviews posted by these customers) it seems like bad experiences follow them everywhere, so I personally wouldn't take them seriously. My experience couldn't have been more positive, I called and made an appointment, showed up for the appointment at which point I was told how much my service would cost and how long it would take (1 hour). My vehicle was ready almost exactly 1 hour later (5 minutes early) and cost exactly what they said it would cost. I have a newer vehicle and I've followed all of the requested maintenance, so perhaps others writing reviews have neglected that step then feel they should hold the dealership accountable for that, which I personally

Jacob is amazing to work with, very patient and professional. He has a great demeanor and you can tell he has a very consultative approach vs the pushy salesperson. I had a wonderful experience working with him. Good Job Jacob, you deserve a promotion ASAP.

I have now had two experiences with the service department, and I am not very impressed. I brought my Toyota to them back in June to have it inspected for purchase. It was a pretty expensive endeavor just to have it inspected, costing over $150. They told me that one of my CV axles was busted, which I already knew, and also informed me that the low-pressure side of my AC system needed to be replaced because it was leaking. They didn’t do any proper diagnosis or checking. Had they done so, they would have found that the valve was simply dirty due to being improperly filled by the previous owner. I chose not to take the car in for repairs through them because of their inability to actually diagnose versus simply working up a cost to sell a service, regardless of whether it was actually neede
