Had a smart key that unexpectedly failed on my Mom as she was having lunch. Luckily, she wasn’t far away and was able to bring her the spare key. Called our local MB dealer only to be told that I would have to drop off the car for them to diagnose even though I explained in detail what happened. They wanted $325 just to diagnose the issue. Called another independent MB shop who was able to diagnose the issue (bad key) but referred me to a locksmith who would make a new key but that it would be an aftermarket one. If you want peace of mind and confidence in the people that are working on your car then this is the place for you. There is not another shop I trust with my car as much this one, and trust me I learned the hard way. Unlike other shops they’re not going to try and sell you unnecessary work or do “guesswork” on the car. I first came across Star Motor Werks on Instagram while scrolling through car content. At the time, I had been saving up for a brake upgrade and decided to reach out via Instagram (as suggested on their page) back in 2024. I received an automated response, but unfortunately never heard back. Life got busy, and I eventually forgot about it. I can easily say that I have found a shop that I will be bringing all of my Mercedes cars to as long as I own one (forever). I brought in my 2005 E55 for transmission problems after another shop had just simply told me I needed a new transmission without even doing anything past running some codes.
