I had an absolutely terrible experience with this mechanic. They intentionally filled my windshield washer reservoir with antifreeze instead of windshield cleaner, which was not only unprofessional but downright vindictive. On top of that, they lied about the cost multiple times—quoting me one price, then changing it again and again once the work was done. It’s clear they take advantage of customers, especially those who trust them to be honest. If you value integrity, safety, and fair pricing, avoid this shop at all costs.

I brought in my 2001 Honda Civic LX to Star Transmissions after the auto transmission started experiencing “slipping” and torque converter shudder following an engine rebuild at another shop. Anthony and his team were very professional and helpful in working me through what was initially a very stressful situation. They spent a lot of time on the road and in the shop trying to eliminate the issues without a costly transmission rebuild. I almost never write reviews, but Star Transmissions definitely deserves one. My car was having issues accelerating and the RPMs were very high. I took my car to another transmission shop and they told me I needed to replace the transmission and gave me a quote of $6500. I wanted to get a second opinion and my mechanic highly recommend Star. I called them and explained the situation. Anthony was very helpful and told me they would investigate the issue before jumping right to replacement of the transmission. I dropped the car off Sunday night. Monday they called me and said they found an issue with one of the sensors and a fluid leak. They replaced the sensor and replaced the transmission fluid. They kept the car overnight and tested it out Tuesday to ensure that the problem was fixed. I

Kind and very attentive. Took the one star off because I felt my issue was not diagnosed before pointing me to a resolution. Can you imagine being told you need a new transmission which can cost $3000 to $10000 when in fact someone else is the issue. And you find out that your car is still driving fine after 10000 miles from when your told your transmission is done without even being driven or put into gear.
