I brought Zip and team my 1954 Chevy 3100 truck. While they weren't the original builders, they have been absolutely incredible in maintenance, diagnosis of issues, and addressing everything. They have deep expertise across everything on my truck: Art Morrison chassis, GM Connect & Cruise engine and transmission, Dakota gauges, suspension setup, cooling, wiring, insights on the original body, and more. They are impressively dedicated to finding the cause of every issue and proposing ways to fix. Their online system is updated everyday with progress and they proactively reach out with updates or decisions to be made. The shop is clean and the team seems very happy to be working there. I had an interior paint project done. Fantastic from start to finish. They kept me up to date by phone and I was able to track the progress myself thru their site. The cost was higher than I initially expected but you're kidding yourself if you want a final cost before the project even starts, too many little details that always creep up on you. They knew what I wanted and followed thru very well. All employees very professional.

This is hands down the baddest custom auto shop period. I've worked at a few and none compare to the level of perfection these fellas achieve daily, I have a friend who works there and I have so much respect and awe for him and every single person there. If you want the best of the best of the best this hands down is it.

Zip and his team are the best at what they do, period! It’s a well known fact in the gear-head community, I’ve been a car guy for over 30 yrs and have had dozens of classics and customs, I’ve dealt with many shops, and there are crooks and scumbag’s you really have to watch out for, but Zip and his team are highly experienced, honest and knowledgeable, they did an amazing job on my Camaro, and they build 6 figure show cars on a daily basis. Other shops dream to achieve this level of industry knowledge and over all success. If you’re looking for a shop to build your dream car resto-mod or pro-touring, full custom, hotrod, etc, this is the shop! They literally can do it all!

Street Metal Concepts is, hands down, THE BEST. I went through 6 "reputable" mechanics before I was referred to Zip Simons by a mutual friend. I moved on because I didn't feel listened to or taken seriously. They talked down to me because I am not a car expert, but being the expert is supposed to be their job. Not mine. In contrast, Zip consistently updates me and lets me make the final decisions. He and his guys never treat me like less than their friend. They always explain what they're doing in my non-expert terms and I always understand and feel like part of the process. I have had consistent extraordinary service and work done with them and would never even consider going anywhere else. The extent of my car knowledge is how it drives and how it looks.
