The Hartford

The Hartford took care of me for a bit after my heart failure but they made me fight and fight to keep my benefits. On Veterans Day ( I’m a Combat Veteran ) they called me with a new case manager who was pushy and rude and she basically told me that they were gonna cancel my benefits. I kept them till yesterday( 5 days before Christmas) my doctors tell me it’s best to not go back to work their doctor that I have never seen say I can go back to work. I guess I’m just venting but Jennifer who is a case manager for long term did her job and got my claim canceled right before Christmas me and my kids sure do appreciate you Jennifer. I hope you get a raise and I hope you are able to climb the ladder at your company. I really do wish nothing but the best but you really did make my life WAY more

I had to use Hartford as I was pulling liability off a client of theirs in a car collision. It was my worst experience of working with auto insurance. I was paired with an adjuster that was defensive with every question. Getting a rental car took an entire week. At one point, my adjuster had me go to the rental vehicle location three times in one day. They insisted it was enterprise’s fault and ghosted me that day after the third attempt. The next day, I called a representative to demand help and the rep doubled down on the issue not being their fault. I argued until another adjuster helped me and confirmed my original adjuster made a clerical error. I had to fight every day, for over a week, to get a rental and my car repaired. Today I got a bill from Hartford for my car insurance. It was wrong because I stopped covering my daughter’s car. So I got a quote of about 1300 dollars but the bill I got included her car. So I called Hartford and spoke with Mark Craig. He was SO kind, patient, efficient and professional. He explained everything and adjusted the bill. He was really a good guy. We began using The Hartford in the spring of 2022. On February 23, 2023, I gave birth through a cesarean section, and my short-term disability insurance process began as I went on maternity leave. My last day of work was February 22, 2023. Despite the Benefit Date of March 2, I did not receive a first payment from Hartford until April 11 after inquiring multiple times regarding the status. This put a strain on my finances during an already stressful time with a newborn. It was around that time that I received my first email notification about my insurance claim. I had a business policy and have had nothing but issues. They were trying to cancel my policy claiming I had not paid the premium when I had a receipt for my payment. When I cancelled the policy they had every excuse not to refund the remaining premium. When I would call it was a new issue and always a different answer.
