The Retreat Alzheimer's Speciality Care

I can’t say enough about the care provided to my uncle over his 2.5 year stay. The staff was compassionate and communicative with my dad so he could stay informed. They noticed little details like which clothing was wearing thin and needed to be replaced, and what things were making him smile day to day. It is clean, and the residents are well cared for. This is place is truly a gift to families navigating a desperately sad time

The Retreat provided amazingly compassionate and loving care for our mom with very serious Alzheimer's. We moved her from a memory Care facility in Tennessee and we were so very pleased that we did. Yes, mom had a roommate, but the care was outstanding. During Mom's last days we were afforded the ability to sit with her 24 hrs a day, holding her hand, reading to her, praying with her. The Retreat is a MODEL for other Alzheimer's care facilities to aspire to.

My father lived here for four years in the Alzheiner's unit. He had excellent care, and staff communicated extremely well with my mother. My children and I were always invites to stay and have a meal with my dad if it was mealtime. I dropped in irregularly and never saw anything to be concerned about. As he prpgressed, they worked well with the Hospice provider. His end of life care, and ours, was top- notch. They were helpful, understanding and minimized both his fear and pain very well and made us welcome to stay or go as we needed during an emotional time. I trusted the staff completely and may return with my mother for her end of life care if needed. I can recommend The Retreat without reservation.

Disappointed in this place. Don’t recommend. Tiny rooms with roommate, no privacy, patients were walking around lost with no support and by themselves which is very concerning. The bottom mattress was visibly dirty and stained. Very sad living conditions and unacceptable.

Avoid by all means. The Fairwinds is a much nicer environment with professional staff and management.
