My husband and I have lived in The Village’s independent living for 3 1/2 years and are of one mind that it is the best move we’ve ever made. First of all, living here is about the people. Of the hundreds of workers who make our lives easier, every single one of them is courteous and friendly, doing their best every day to help us feel like we are among friends who care about us as human beings. We have a choice of four dining possibilities with an incredible variety of menu items that update regularly. From excellent soups to salads to The Village’s famous fried chicken, there is always something to tempt my appetite. Living at The Village at Gainesville is a carefree, resort-like lifestyle. Mundane jobs like cooking and cleaning are done for you. You can spend time doing what you enjoy from a smorgasbord of events and activities. The campus is very walkable with lots of green space, a resident garden, and never ending surprises to observe around Gin House Lake. Friends are easy to meet when you attend activities that you enjoy. Culinary associates prepare quality food and a variety of dishes in a couple of dining venues. You can participate in the Resident Council and any number of special interest groups. Or, you can find time to read and just do your own thing. I’m thankful I chose live at The Village at Gainesville.

The Village catered an incredible event for us. The food was southern fare with a touch of Louisiana sass - so delicious and enjoyed by all, particularly the chef’s tableside fired shrimp with infused butter. The staff were friendly, efficient and the set up was seamless. Will hire again in a heartbeat!

Living at the Village Gainesville is a life saver---feel safe in so many ways and better yet, the Village is such a pleasant, fun and healthy place in which to feel safe. The staff, at all levels, goes out of their way to make one feel welcome and seen. For instance, Kim, Rebecca and Josh always have a happy smile if one passes by their way. The food wait staff are amazing in their ability to remember names and food/drink preferences. They make the restaurants worth a visit. The residents are friendly and interesting with many different kinds of personalities and interests. Everyone says hello so you always feel "at home". Every kind of activity seems to be available--from the very active to the very quiet and set up to keep the residents doing something worthwhile, healthy and fun. P

Our band, Random Kats, has played music at The Village for several months and have found it to be a delightful experience. Tiffany Williams has been especially helpful and welcoming from greeting us when we arrive to being excited to book our next event. We are hopeful that more bands will understand what a joy it is to play for Seniors.
