The Village at Olathe

If I could I would give 0 stars! My grandmother was in this facility for about 9 months. The management is a joke! No one communicates with each other. She had fallen more times in this facility than she did at home by herself. Every day there was some issue. They weren’t giving her the right medication, she wasn’t getting her showers and they lost most of her laundry…. They also tried to cash a $$$$ check TWICE and tried to LIE about it! DO NOT PUT YOUR FAMILY INTO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!

The heartbeat of this facility is its people. From nursing to the cafeteria, housekeeping, reception, and activities staff. There’s a quote that says, “Character is who you are when no one is watching.” During my brothers time here, I witnessed quiet acts of genuine kindness every day. I will never find words big enough to describe the level of care my brother — and our entire family received.

Proceed with caution if considering placing your loved one in this facility. Incompetent and unqualified management, lack of qualified leadership, high staffing turnover due to highly incompetent, unethical and untrained Human Resources and administration. This entire staff needs training in ethics and compliance. The management ladies are highly unprofessional and lack a great deal of skill in each of their roles. There is no consistency with staffing due to the unfortunate incompetence of the petty and immature women that have been placed in “leadership” and management roles. With new ownership and acquisition, these details will hopefully soon be noticed and action taken. These individuals are not to be trusted nor should be in charge of hiring. My mom stayed at Travanse Living at Olathe for 30 days under their "Recover Well"/respite care program, and we couldn't have been happier. The remodeling of this former Holiday Inn was really nicely done and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Angie, the Lifestyle Specialist, took a lot of time showing us around--twice and on short notice/Saturday while we looked for a temporary place until my mom was well enough to live on her own. We never felt pressure to sign a contract, and Angie gave us good, honest advice even when it didn't benefit her or Travanse. She really knows her job and how the assisted living/independent living business works. Anthology of Olathe is a blessing to our family. My mother is in their memory care unit. She is enjoying her stay there. When we were looking for a place for her I was dreading the thought of her feeling alone. This place has been quite the opposite. They keep her very active and she told me she is having a ball. My step dad recently moved into the independent living area so he could be closer to her. The staff has done everything possible to accommodate all of our needs and wishes. From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcomed. The staff is upbeat and friendly. They have made a tough situation very comforting. A good place to consider visiting.
