Thrifty Car Rental - Jackson - Evers International Airport

I had a late arrival for 11 p.m. The check out was fast. The guy at the counter was awesome. However, there was no one at the gate to go around the car to check for damages. The windshield has a long crack in it. I was unable to find on my contract a number to call. The controlled Survey sent to me did not allow me to report my findings. I do not want to pay for damages that were present before I picked up the car. Otherwise my experience was great!

Car was not clean ! Smelled of marijuana and residue was inside the console. We found a bud under the seat, multiple air freshers and plug in air fresheners inside the car. Returned the vehicle on time and with a full tank of gas but got charged for returning 2 hours late and charged for 3 gallons of gas @10.99/ gallon. The agent at the counter was very nice.

I had a confirmed reservation for 4:30 PM, and I made sure to arrive EARLY to avoid any delays. When I walked in, the help desk was completely unattended. Not a single worker in sight. Instead, there was a sign instructing customers to go to the Hertz check-in desk. I followed those instructions immediately. After checking in, I sat and waited. And waited. And waited. Over 30 minutes passed, and still no one brought out a rental car — not even an update, apology, or explanation. This is not a walk-in situation. This is a reservation. A reservation means the vehicle should be ready at the time promised. That is the entire purpose of reserving a car ahead of time. I had a reservation and arrived at the counter to find a long line and no attendant. I was told the attendant had walked away. I waited about 15 minutes and they never came back. I had to switch my reservation to another rental car company at a higher price. Thrift and Dollar are owned by Hertz and often share the same counter. I would avoid.

Car rental was very commuter friendly. Process went off without a hitch. Customer Service Representative - Madison was great. She was very professional and I was in and out in less than five minutes. Short walk to car.
