Thrifty Car Rental - Rapid City Regional Airport

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS HERTZ/THRIFTY!!!! They are pursuing damages from us that were there when we picked it up! Because we didn’t purchase their astronomical extra insurance, we have to fight it. Also, older lady with blonde hair working the front desk was extremely rude. We were able to reserve the car months in advance with my debit card. When we went the pick up, we couldn’t pick up without a major credit card. We had to use my husbands and because the card was in his name, they had to add me as an “additional driver” for an extra charge. Now, I’m realizing that they are trying to get me to process a claim under my credit card for the damages. I’ve asked for previous pictures of the vehicle but funny enough after all the damages on the vehicle from previous renters (that was noted),t

Horrid - DO NOT RELY on Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty NATIONAL policies and procedures, as this franchisee uses THEIR OWN policies and procedures (Overland West will euphemistically refer to these franchise-specific policies as "Protecting our assets"). Disinterested counter people will happily tag on a $500+ deposit on your credit card PLUS the estimated cost of the rental for your vehicle, and when you later realise this after actually reading the fine print (and comparing it to Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty's NATIONAL CORPORATE deposit policy), and bring that to the attention of the counter people - they literally could not possibly care less. They'll state - "Well, it is SEVEN HUNDRED plus rental cost on a Debit Card!!!" and will continue to be dismissive of you. This is a major tourist area, and thi

I left a couple of knee braces in the back of the rental I returned. I didn't realize it until after they were closed. I called first thing in the morning, they said they would call me back when they found them. They called me back and held onto them for several days until I could pick them up. I thought that was considerate and the price of the truck I rented was fair.

We came from Richmond VA to see Mt Rushmore and got a rental car from Thrifty car rentals. Excellent customer service
