Thrifty Car Rental - Salt Lake City International Airport

I wake up with a 11am flight to SLC Utah with an arrival at 7pm. But quickly that flight was delayed a few hours and suddenly I will miss my connecting flights. American Airlines helped swap my route but the inbound flight is now 1106pm. Obviously worried, I find the google page and see they close at 11pm. So I call them, and after selecting 2, a nice recording says, "dont worry if your flights are delayed, we are tracking your inbound flights and we will stay open for 2 hours after closing." Its a generic message, not specific to me, and it made me feel better, but I wanted to talk to a rep, because I wanted to make sure they had the correct time and flights. So I speak to the rep and they assure me, they have the right flight, they even reiterate my flight number and assure me over the p

I received terrible service. The employee who assisted me was extremely rude. They canceled my reservation without offering any solution, even though I had booked my car a month in advance. On the day I went to pick it up, they tried to give me a vehicle that was completely different from what I had reserved and paid for. I told them I was not okay with that and that I wanted a more compact car, and they canceled my reservation without providing any proof of refund or returning the points I used. It was clear they had no interest in helping me. This place is completely irresponsible, and I do not recommend it at all.

Booked through Expedia and it seemed like a good deal. Wrong. The line was very long when we arrived. They also combined Dollar with Thrifty so at least there were two agents. But still we waited for 45 minutes. They said the car wasn’t ready. Also informed me that I only booked a fwd suv. I asked to get a four wheel drive but they didn’t have any. They could however up charge me to that through Hertz. I ended up paying the extra $250 to get the four wheel drive. When we went down to pick up vehicle we saw that Thrifty lot was empty minus a few small cars and some large Ram trucks. Hertz had plenty of vehicles. I guess Thrifty overbooks and when people actually show up , we’ll goodluck getting your vehicle. Best advice is if the deal is too good to be true then it probably is

Great price. Great experience with check in/out. Reserved 4WD with ski rack. Vehicle didn’t have ski rack so they upgraded us to a nicer bigger AWD SUV. Only problem was tires were almost bald 3/32 tread. Tried to call to exchange vehicle but kept getting run around - only able to speak with 1800 rep who said we would have to call the local airport rep #. Number I was given was airport security who told me Thrifty did not have a local #. Called 1-800 rep again who said she couldn’t help me.

I came to SLC today to travel to a funeral and picked up a rental car from Thrifty.. I asked the customer service rep if an upgrade was available, I wanted something nice. I was excited to get a good suv instead of a basic sedan. Once I got into the suv it was very dirty inside. There was a pop spill on the steering wheel and not cleaned up.. the steering wheel buttons are stuck. The full functions of the steering column and accessories are not functioning because of the spilled mess!! I have to pay extra for a dirty upgrade??
