If I could give Tom's Auto Repair higher than five stars, I would! Their team really helped our family out in a tight pickle and saved our spring break vacation in March 2025! It all started on our longest stretch driving between an attraction in Kentucky to our cabin rental outside Shenandoah National Park's Thornton Gap entrance in Luray, VA. Our minivan started making concerning sounds, then started shaking, and eventually threatening to break down as we were pulling up the mountain into Luray in the dark. Here we were hundreds of miles from home and in the middle of our national parks road trip with our rescue dog and two young kids - and our car was done! I was driving up the steep, winding hill to the north entrance of Skyline Drive when my 2007 Honda Accord started smoking. Panicking, I frantically drove to Tom’s Auto Repair. They took us in immediately, without any wait. The mechanics quickly identified a steering fluid leak as the issue and had us back on the road in less than an hour. Thanks to Tom’s Auto Repair, our friends' hiking trip was saved! They were incredibly nice and respectful, and the check-up price was surprisingly affordable. Tom's Auto Repair truly saved the day with their prompt, caring service.

I've always gone to Tom's for help but recently I had a tire removed and they jacked up the wheel so bad there were gauges on the barrel of the wheel where there shouldn't have been any contact, the duckbill is there for a reason. Getting my own tools and doing it myself from now on, ASE certification and proper equipment isn't part of good business practices apparently. Definitely a place to maintain a low value vehicle.

I was passing through Luray on my way back to Georgia and my check engine light came on. I stopped by two other places in Luray, but they were full and they directed me to Tom’s. The lady in the office was delightful and was willing to check what was going on immediately, even though there were other customers and they were clearly busy. The mechanic was also incredibly nice. They quickly discovered what was needed to get me back on the road. They could have easily gouged me or told me anything, but instead they were honest and I was on my way for $57 and about 30 minutes of waiting. I made it all the way back to GA with no problems at all. When you don’t know a lot about vehicles, it’s easy to get taken advantage of, but the wonderful people at Tom’s are honest and do good work. Best repair shop experience I’ve ever had! The service team was able to replace our alternator within two hours on a Saturday morning, New Year’s Eve. If it wasn’t for Tom’s, we would have been stranded in town until the following Tuesday. Not only was their work great, but the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We now have a favorite shop whenever we’re in town. We are so impressed. If you need anything for your car or truck, this is the place to go.
