Universal Smog & Repair

I NEVER write bad reviews, but this place deserves one. One of my cars had an exhaust leak, near the exhaust manifold. I have plenty of experience working on my own cars but I recently moved and don't have my tools with me, so it's difficult to check things without a jack etc. This shop is right up the street from me and I figured why not stop by and get a quote on diagnosis to find exactly where the leak is at. Car had no check engine light, but there was an audible noise above 2500 rpm that sounded like an exhaust leak to me, also reduced acceleration. I came around 3pm and he was closing shop, said to come back another day but before I left, I asked if he could do me one favor. I didn't ask to look in the engine bay, or under the car. I can't recommend Universal Smog and Repair enough! I first took my wife's 2016 Honda Fit to another place for verification, and the check engine line was on. The guy there told me it had three codes related to the catalytic converter and that it needed to be repaired before it could be smog-checked. I was worried about a costly repair, so I called this place for advice. They told me to come in the next day and talk to Jack, the owner. When I arrived, Jack was busy and told me to return early the next day. But then I mentioned that the check engine light had turned off. That got his attention. He quickly checked the car and told me it would pass. He ran the smog test right then and there, and sure enough, it passed! This place saved me thousands of dollars, and I couldn't be more grate

I have been taking my Ford cargo van to this place for many years and they always did an excellent job. They do excellent work they're very honest and courteous. I highly recommend this place for your repairs or smog and air conditioning problems.
