I brought my truck to this Chevrolet dealership’s service center due to a very loud and easily noticeable grinding noise. The noise was obvious and clearly audible; however, the service department claimed they could not find any issue. Because I had stopped driving the truck out of concern for the grinding noise, the vehicle sat unused at my home and the battery eventually died. I jump-started the truck only to bring it to the dealership. After the jumpstart, a check engine light appeared. I clearly explained to the service advisor that the light came on only after the jumpstart. The advisor stated they could connect the vehicle to their diagnostic equipment to see if the dead battery caused the light.
