Extremely frustrated with this location. My friend and I brought her car in for a simple oil change—nothing more. The check engine light was already on prior to service, and when they asked if they could take a look, we agreed. The technician later came back and admitted he had no idea what the issue was. He then proceeded to tell her that her brakes were in “extremely bad condition,” claiming they were metal-on-metal and needed immediate replacement. We got a second opinion at another shop the same day and were told her brakes were perfectly fine with no safety concerns whatsoever. It’s incredibly frustrating to have a technician openly admit they don’t know what an issue means, yet still attempt to pressure a customer into unnecessary repairs. This felt misleading and untrustworthy. 1

Desmond always provides top-notch customer service every time we come in for an oil change. He’s professional, friendly, and goes above and beyond. He even gave us great advice on BBQ nachos with mustard BBQ from the spot nearby while we waited—plus he had us in and out on our lunch break. Truly the best!

The below review is from a few years ago, they are still a great local shop to get an oil change and other maintenance. A great local spot to get a state inspection! I've been coming here since the sign said Blue Stream. Not sure if the shop went through a ownership change or if they just changed their name, either way they've been providing quality service for years! Generally they are pretty quick and thorough with the service they provide. A technician there even helped me replace a a tricky light. Informative in a way you can understand. Oil changes are affordable. Location is in a great spot too! Next to a gas station and right off the highway. Plenty of choices nearby if you do need to wait for you

Best car mechanic experience Ive had in Springfield and here’s why: Before finding Valvoline Express Care on Sunshine, I was on the verge of giving up. My car had been sitting for some time and needed new maintenance to get back on the road, but every mechanic I called either tried to price gouge me or gave ridiculous wait times — we’re talking about hours or even days. Really not good considering my tags needed renewed in less than a week. The worst part was when one mobile mechanic overcharged me for doing the bare minimum (change a tire, fix dead battery, put gas in tank, clear warning lights) and my car still had issues afterward. Another mechanic wanted to charge me 270.00 to put in lightbulbs. Frustrated, I decided to try another auto mechanic shop, but this time I called Valvoline
