Villages on MacArthur

If the facility was as good as employees like Anthony in PT. Magdalena and Richard who are two of the best nurse aides you could ask for, T T who drove the van, The very nice receptionist with blond hair and several really compassionate nurses, I would give a five star review. 2 is generous. The facility is extremely understaffed, and could use a thorough cleaning. The management staff seem disorganized. I do not think the place is hopeless and I pray the long term guests are much better treated. My sister was there for rehabilitation and now is home where she continues to get stronger. One more thing that bothered me was the condition of the facilities van. Cracked windshields are a safety hazard.

If you are looking for a good place for rehabilitation, keep looking. The rehab department Is the only good feature of this place. The haphazard operation otherwise is clearly not in the best interest of the patient. Read other review sites. Most spell out in detail why you should not consider coming here or placing your loved one here. Apparently, the state of Texas has no regulation regarding standards of rehab centers’ operation.

Great place for rehab. The admissions director, Janet is awesome, very helpful. Erica the SW assistant is great too. Noel, the administrator is helpful as well.

Transferred my Mother here in February due to a UTI and she needed some rehab. She was there 3 days with no way to move as they would not give her a walker, no bath, no evaluation. She is a vegetarian and they brought her meat items daily until I complained a number of times. She was able to walk in the hospital (pre requisite for her discharge) and the Villages called a ambulance service to transport her instead of a wheel chair van. I got stuck with a $1627 bill as insurance would not cover it. Multiple attempts to contact the facility yielded in no replies and no call backs. I removed her from the facility after 5 days or so as all they were interested in was keeping her there and collecting BCBS payments as long as they could. Horrible facility, horrible management. My mother was there less than 72 hours before I removed her from the facility & transferred her somewhere else. I have no confidence in The Villages on MacArthur, and I am deeply concerned for the welfare of patients who do not have family members advocating for them. My concerns in the very short amount of time my mother was inpatient in this facility included: A systemic failure in patient monitoring and fall prevention; less than 12 hours from her arrival I returned to find my mother in the floor of her room, door closed, with no access to the call cord & no nurse or aide in sight • Medical and hygiene neglect • Lack of communication, coordination, and follow-through from leadership • Disregard for physician orders and basic human dignity I had high hopes for this facility as this
