Westminster Bradenton - The Manor Neighborhood

My wife and I have been members of the Manor neighborhood for almost three years. I can say without hesitation that this was the exact place we should be at in our stage in life. I heard so much chatter that the staff was warm and personal. Everyone says that about their place, right? Well, we can honestly say the personnel and staff are genuinely warm and personal. They take a felt interest in our concerns and needs. It is amazing. With our budget, we decided to live in the mobile home park. We are very happy in our place. We have a beautiful full kitchen, two bedrooms, and 1 1/2 bathrooms with a washer and dryer. Furthermore, we have not had a speck of damage in the last few years of hurricane season. We decided to be on the one meal plan. We enjoy our lunch every day in the dining room.

We moved into our Villa at the Manor, Westminster Bradenton, six years ago. We have a lovely little house, and an ample yard where our dog can play and we can garden. We enjoy being here and our son and daughter are relieved, knowing that we are well taken care of and are enjoying our life here. The reasons are many: supportive and caring professional medical care, excellent food, friendly staff, a wide variety of exercise possibilities, and activities ranging through the arts and education. But the best part of it is that the residents here are delightful and interesting. We often say to each other that this is the best decision we ever made.

Back in the 1940’s my minister dad would sometimes take me on his rounds to visit parishioners in what was then called “a home for the aged.” In the decades since, I visited family and friends in various communities throughout our country. After my husband died, it became my time to choose. I explored worthy senior communities in Pennsylvania and in the Tampa Bay area, so that when I walked into the front lobby at Westminster Manor and overheard the warmth and respect in how a resident and staff person spoke with one another, I trusted my sense that I had just stepped into my right place. I have lived at the Manor for over 10 years so far. I remember the day I moved in when a beautiful lady welcomed me and told me that she had lived here for 16 years so far, and that I was going to love it here. She was typical of the welcomers I recieved when I first moved here. The Manor Residents are warm, loving people who welcome you into "the family". There are wide ranges of people who have made the Manor home. Some Rich, some not so Rich. Some Educated, some less so, some needing help and some needing to give help. The Manor makes it all come together to form a family of the Residents. The Manor has provided a wonderful home for my late husband and I over the years. There are programs for mental and physical stimulation, life goes on in all the best ways at the Manor! .

We really like best the family atmosphere here. Westminster Manor fits us. The people here are just wonderful, and there are so many things here that are very interesting to do. We really enjoy all of the programming, like musical performances, and nice bus trips to get to other events. We’re also really enjoy dining here —the food is tasty, healthful and of excellent quality. It is amazing how competent and caring the wait staff is. I don't know how it could be done any better. Now that my husband and I have been here at the Manor for seven years we can still say that we are happy with our decision to come here . The care and support we have received has been excellent both before and after my husband s medical problems. We have moved from independent to assisted living and I am gratef
