Willoughby Manor Retirement Residence

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Willoughby Manor and their wonderful team in the community for the past two years. During this time, I’ve confidently referred them many times—both for their excellent respite care and their welcoming retirement residence. I’ve attended many of their activities and always look forward to joining the residents each Christmas when the trees in the front yard are lit up. My tree has yet to win, but honestly, I feel like I already win when I see the joy on the residents’ faces during the celebration. Their craft shows are another highlight for me—such a warm and engaging way to bring the community together. Willoughby Manor is truly more than a residence; it’s a place where care, joy, and community spirit shine through in everything they do.

As a family member of a cherished aging loved one , you find yourself in the position because of their health and well-being to have to take the next step for their protection by moving them from independent living to a retirement home. This decision does not come easy and is extremely difficult. I know that for my Mom I wanted a family orientated environment that was clean, intimate and above all had responsible, trustworthy, effective, dedicated and caring Staff. We have so gratefully found that at The Willoughby Manor for my Mom. This beautiful retirement home tucked into the heart of Chippewa along the banks of the Welland River is a hidden gem. From the moment you open its grand entrance you feel it's welcoming embrace. My Mom arrived at the Manor quite low in spirits and health.

We had the pleasure of touring Willoughby Manor recently and were so impressed! The space is beautiful, but what stood out even more was the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. During our visit, residents were enjoying live music and genuinely looked like they were having a great time. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind—it’s clear they truly care about the people who live there. We’re also so grateful for their support of our Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser. Willoughby Manor generously provided delicious soup for over 250 guests, helping us create a warm and memorable experience for everyone involved. Thank you to the entire team for all that you do for your residents and the community!

I have attended many events at this retirement community. Their Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony has been one of my favourites, it’s very festive and lovely too see all the trees decorated on the front lawn. Recently I attended the yoga in the yard, such a nice offering for a free community class. The home inside is very beautiful and has a lovely home like feel. The residents are very welcoming and wonderful to chat with. Thank you for putting on some great events that the community can attend, I will be attending more!

The NFCO Soup Kitchen held it's 3rd annual Golf Tournament in late August, Willoughby Manor was kind enough to donate a beautiful basket filled with host/hostess gifts that we used as a door prize. It was wonderful returning to the Manor as I hadn't been there since 2017 after my Mom passed away. She lived at this caring facility for nearly 9 years making wonderful new friends and reestablishing some old ones. The care she received was outstanding, this was her home not just a place she resided. Thank you Willoughby Manor ...Bonnie Brady
