Woody’s Transmission is the only transmission place we trust. We have had our transmission rebuilt by them 4 years ago. Last year the van was acting up and Woody’s was booked for a few days so we took it to another shop in Lufkin.(BIG MISTAKE) We were told it needed a whole new transmission and that there were metal shavings in the pan. $6,000 was what we were quoted. We took the van back to Woody’s and it was just a sensor issue, $600. Completely fixed the issue and he found NO metal shavings. Don’t trust anyone else, just go to Woody’s!

This local family owned shop was a great experience. They took about a week on my 47re transmission-97 dodge 2500 (expected when dealing with any transmission issues) in that time they diagnosed it properly, put in the appropriate part, and tested it properly. The price came in under the initial quote so that’s always a plus. Turns out it was just a solenoid that is known to cause problems in those transmissions.It’s now been about 3 months and I haven’t had any issues. I’m sure I’ll be coming back in the future for more work on my other truck.

Wouldn’t recommend. Took a transmission to get rebuilt and paid the deposit. I was quoted a 2 week turnaround. 3 weeks passed, so I called to check on the the progress and get an updated ETA for completion. The owners wife answered and refused to put the owner on the phone. Ok, no problem, here’s a message and a requested call back. No call back. Went round and round with his wife who either chose not to give the owner the message, or the owner chose not to call. So I swung by with parts. Owners wife refused to assist in contacting her husband who was inside the house behind the shop. Another 2 weeks passed and I finally just gave up and retrieved my transmission (untouched after 4 weeks). His response was simply “I have enough work”. Would never recommend to anyone after the shady work they've done. Truck broke down after a month of being fixed for the second time. Instead of taking responsibility for his poor work. He rather make excuses and blame others. I didn't believe a couple other people that said the same thing. Till i seen it first hand myself. Very poor customer skills and very iffy work.

What a great transmission shop with a very knowledgeable mechanic. Had my car towed to them due to a bad busted leak in my transmission causing it to stall. They repaired the problem. It took a little while but it was worth the wait. Car runs exceptionally well. I am so pleased and if I ever need to have any work done in the future I will definitely bring my car back to them. Mr. Woody you are the man.
