A Rusted Development

I’m a little late to this review, but I had been taking my past cars to this shop in town for a little while since I thought they were decent. But was proven wrong. I had a Chevy cobalt that had a weird high idle issue and I had taken it in to them MULTIPLE times for diagnostics and engine shakedowns because I knew this wasn’t normal. They would charge me minimum $30 every time, and probably did nothing. Well one night I was driving in salt lake and wouldn’t you know it, I’m pulling up to a stop light and all of a sudden my check engine light comes on, abs light came on, and the car loses power almost completely. Luckily I didn’t have to drive far to get it back to where I needed it, and got it into a shop down there (Jefferey P. Davis) first thing the next morning. They had let me know it

Nearly killed me - literally from a wheel falling off my van. New to the area, thought I'd check them out with a simple mounting of my summer tires on new wheels (provided) - expensive at $175. (Oakley garage charged $100.) ARD botched the job, reported needing to "cut 3 nuts" (what? I should have asked more). But it gets worse: they did not tighten the lug nuts, not even close. Within first 30 miles of driving, lost 3 nuts and and a wheel nearly fell off driving down Parley's Canyon. Rescued by UDOT road service who redistributed lugnuts (so each wheel missing no more than one) and tightened all lug nuts for me, reporting all of them loose. Jake and crew were awesome to work with. They replaced knuckle bearings and all brakes hardware, rear pinion seal, all belts, and fixed tie rod ends to cure steering issue and alignment. Jake also hooked me up with two complimentary tees. Thanks guys!

Although the repair work was completed, it took too long, cost too much and they reprogrammed my truck without my permission. They replaced the coolant temperature sensor in my f-150. It took 4 days because they bent the wires in the sensor upon installation. They then attempted to charge me 3 hours diagnostic to determine why it wasn’t working properly. Finally they reprogrammed my truck, limiting my top speed and my radio volume. I will NOT recommend a rusted development.

I had the guys here rebuild the engine on my ‘91 Land Cruiser. Not only did they do a great job but they are great to work with. Jake was very patient with me (I’m super picky and overthink everything). He has been great to work with after the fact as well taking care of the little things that come up after an engine rebuild. I will happily refer them to everyone I know and will definitely be going back!
