American Brake & Muffler Shops Complete Auto Repair | Gary, Indiana

Stopped in this place for a wheel alignment. Was quoted a price of 120. They charged me for the job then informed me that i needed a wheel alignment on the back tires. I asked what did i pay for. Then was told that the price that i was quoted only included the front tires. Who goes to get only two tires aligned. Why didn’t anyone explain that that price was only for two tires. First time doing business here and felt like i was misinformed. The craziest part of it all is the front was not in need of the wheel alignment. It was the back. Staff refused to speak about the matter. And walked away from the conversation.

CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!! Took my car in because it was making noises when l would go over a bump. I’m no mechanic so they gave me a list of what was wrong and l paid them over $3500 to fix ALL the issues. The next day l noticed my car was STILL making noises and l brought it back before the warranty ran out and they told me that they “missed” that my struts were bad and it would be over $800.00 to fix!!! Not only that but the manager said that it was not a safety issue but when l researched the issue it is a BIG safety issue!!! I don’t know what type of “mechanics” they have but l would never trust this business with car repairs since they don’t know how to properly check their work. They don’t have a record of who works on your car in order to avoid accountability… it’s very poor customer se

Mark was absolutely knowledgeable and very courteous prices was high but they found the problem with my vehicle and fixed it. That’s all that counts. I highly recommend American brake and muffler shop for your next vehicle repair.
