Avis Car Rental

Rip off! Avis will add numerous additional charges to your final bill! Got charged a $12 fee just to extend my rental car one extra day. I went in person to the office because they NEVER answer the phone. The woman could’ve told me in person that I’d be charged a $12 fee to extend my rental one day. I then got charged $24 for an extra hour because my rental started at 8am on a weekday and ended on Saturday. But they don’t open until 9am on Saturday. They don’t have a drop box for the keys and I was there when they opened. Doesn’t seem fair to pay $24 for one hour because they open an hour later on Saturday’s. Then my final bill showed the daily fee increased by $4 each day. They changed the daily rate and added ridiculous fees without any warning or notification. See pics of fees. I tried

I really like this location. I’ve used them twice now and will continue to use them. Both times I was given nice reliable vehicles of the most recent year that were both comfortable and had great gas mileage. The only problem I had was when I tried to call I did not get anyone in the office. I needed to know if there was a drop box for the key. I had been trying for a few days to get a hold of someone in the office and never got through. When I was forwarded to a corporate representative they told me that the office line was busy probably due to themselves being busy. The corporate representative answered my question so it was fine, I just worried what would happen if we needed them to answer.

I had a reservation made over a month ago to pick up at noon on Sunday. When I arrive at noon to pick up, this location is closed. I called the 24 hr customer help number & the representative remarked that some locations that are slow on a sunday close early. I was NOT made aware of this. My pick up time & date was an available option. I did not go to the wrong location or reserve at the wrong location. I did not arrive late. This mistake is because this Avis location closed EARLIER than noon! Why is it an option for this location to close earlier than the rental reservations for the day?? There was no phone call, message, email in attempt to let me know this location was closing, my contact information is in the reservation!!! Rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional. I recently rented a car from Avis and had a disappointing experience. Upon picking up the vehicle, I noticed that the side mirror was damaged. I immediately reported it to the Avis associate, who assured me that she had documented the damage in the system and told me I wouldn’t be held responsible. Unfortunately, I later received a charge for this pre-existing damage, only to find out that the associate hadn’t actually recorded it as promised. Now, I’m stuck disputing a charge for something that was clearly not my fault, all because of inaccurate information from Avis staff. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed with Avis’s lack of accountability. The staff are amazing!!!! I've worked in the rental car industry and have rented cars for years, and they are the best I've ever been able to work with. I will only rent from these two ladies at Avis. I used to be a diehard Hertz renter. I had a time that Hettz was out of vehicles, and I went to use Avis. From the first time I met these girls, I have never wanted to rent anywhere else again. They have the best hearts and customer service that I thought were gone and lost to time. If you need to rent a vehicle, then you need to go see the ladies at Avis in Amarillo. They will treat you like family, the manager Sherry is the best in the business, because of her heart for people. So stop reading this and go talk to the ladies and rent you a car ASAP.
