Avis's prepayment policy is punitive. Canceling within 24 hours of booking resulted in a 50% loss, despite ample notice. Additionally, Avis doesn't guarantee your booked vehicle. This lack of transparency and rigid policies make Avis a risky choice. Avoid prepayment and be aware of potential vehicle substitutions.
