Avis Car Rental

Frequent traveler and first time poster as a result of the deplorable treatment by Avis. One of the two at the main desk yelled at 18 waiting customers at 1am as unable to dispense cars they booked due to lack of staff and oversold inventory. After nearly an hour in line with no movement they finally acknowledged that you will only get a car if you accept an 15 passenger panel van or electric. Since downtown Boston does not seem conducive to a serial killer vehicle I went with the electric hoping the hotel can guide me to a charging station. All of the Avis waiting customers unable to go to the neighboring competitors as they waited until all closed to announce the real delay. Good news, I had time to create my new accounts with National and Enterprise. Only action remains is to cancel

I want to take a moment to appreciate the manager (Totally forgot his name) at Avis – Boston Logan International Airport. I had some rental issues, and he handled everything with incredible kindness, professionalism, and care. He genuinely cares about customers and goes out of his way to help. It’s rare to meet someone so patient and understanding, especially in a busy airport location. I give him 10/10 without a doubt. Avis should absolutely recognize him and reward him — employees like this are the reason customers stay loyal. Truly grateful for the support!

Picking up the car was simple quick and easy!! Dropping off the car sucked employees were supper slow 3 out of 4 that were standing in the back of the counter were chitchatting about what they brought to work to eat later and if they wanna exchange foods while I’m standing there trying to return my keys finally 25 min after they asked how can we help and I said I just want to return the car and the respond was ohhh just leave the keys in the car.. I was in a hurry was gonna be late I didn’t say anything but I wish I had time to ask for the manager to bring it to there attention that it’s not fair for someone to stand there for 25-30 min specially in an airport where time is importance

My rental was a Ford escape all wheel drive. The drive is smooth once I get used to it except the driver's seat cannot be adjusted for my height. As I'm not tall, my foot is hanging while on the gas paddle. Retuning the car is easy.

My wife and I wanted to write a review and specifically mention Julie at the Boston Avis airport counter. We were supposed to rent through a different Avis off site, but due to a ton of horrible delays our plane landed extremely late and the facility was closed. My wife was practically in tears as the rental car rates were insanely high from the airport and we had gotten a great deal at the location off site, which we now couldn’t use. In a last ditch effort my wife and I went up to the Avis airport counter to see if there was anything that could be done. Julie was extremely helpful. Kind and also great at her job. She helped us get into a great car at a great rate that we had received online at the offsite location and we so so appreciated it. My wife was so thrilled after a horrible trav
