Avis Car Rental

My wife and I have been using this location for business travel and vacation travel for around a decade. I am certain that this location is badly managed because we have many years of great experiences with Avis / Budget. As long as the Regional manager and corporate office ignores the complaints it will probably not improve. Reservation's are usually not ready on time. Cars are always dirty. Dents, scratches, and body damage is to be expected. The interior WILL be dirty and stained. We use regularly four locations around the United States and this location is the absolute worst in all manner. We have literally picked up a car, filthy and driven 30 miles away to another location and exchanged it for a decent vehicle. DO NOT RENT A CAR WITH AVIS AT THIS LOCATION!!! Worst experience with Avis I've had and I'm an avid traveler and Avis preferred member. I made a reservation on Priceline days ago, everything was confirmed and I also prepaid. I went to pickup my reservation at 3pm on Sunday. Their location closes at 3pm. I was there at approximately 3pm as rental agreement states car is guaranteed to be available at start time of your contract. Not only were they "closed", but the very unhelpful employee at the desk said even though I had a prepaid reservation he could get in trouble for giving me a vehicle. I was here visiting my son, who is active duty military and needed to be back on base shortly thereafter. I left without a rental car, and will NEVER book with AVIS again!!!

Here’s the story of a lovely lady…. AnyWho, my experience with Avis was very bad. $900 relocation fee that was never expressed to me and a jacked up reservation was made. Everyone that assisted me really didn’t assist with anything, just made it sound like they were. The only person willing to work with me was a man named Tony at the Columbus regional airport in Georgia. Thank you, Tony. You are an exceptional human being with compassion in your heart and humanity. You’ve restored some of the humanity that I’ve lost over this trip. Thank you again.

I tried to rent thru the app and it wasn't letting it go thru despite showing vehicles available. Called the customer service number provided thru the app to see if vehicles were available. Uppon being dropped of today I am told there are no vehicles available for my prepaid reservation and I have to contact customer support for a refund on my rental. I am also left at the airport and now paying substantially more for a rental from another agency and transportation to get there. This experience is enough to make me consider not using avis in the future if they can't coordinate online with their physical locations.
