Avis Car Rental

VOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS – absolutely the most disgusting, unsanitary rental car I have ever seen in 30+ years of traveling. I flew in from Boston on a new direct flight to Daytona, excited to pick up the electric Mustang Mach-E I booked. I travel to Daytona from Boston at least once a month (sometimes more) and was actually looking forward to renting from Budget here regularly now that I don’t have to drive up from Orlando. That excitement lasted about 30 seconds. • Reserved EV → “broken” on lot • Tesla on the lot → also “broken” • Forced into a Ford Escape that looked like it had been through a war zone. Booked a car almost a week ahead of time for my wife. It was a smaller SUV which she is comfortable driving. Upon arrival at Avis they had two cars available neither of which were the car she wanted or even in the same (or similar) class. Both were much larger SUVs. Guy at the counter was pretty rude and she had no choice but to take the car as she needed to be somewhere When I was renting the car the larger SUV was listed as available and was also cheaper I imagine because of its size and gas prices. Like I said before we opted for the smaller SUV because that was what she was comfortable driving, but nothing in that class was available

Nice people employees , love the car car does have alot of dings and small dents. But love the vehicle

I had the pleasure of meeting a nice young man named Abel. I had a reservation booked for the 15th and 30 minutes before opening he had called me and informed me that there were no cars available even though i had a reservation booked, that was a bummer. He told me that as soon as one returned he would call me and let me know. He had called a couple hours later and informed me of a wrangler that just got back. He said the wrangler is more expensive then what i had booked but since they weren’t able to accommodate he did a price match. When i had come to pick up the wrangler there was a mustang on the lot he had just cleaned and he even switched me into that with no extra fee. Long story short. Abel was very pleasant and had a fantastic attitude despite how busy it was from Biketoberfest.

Pick up was smooth but drop off was very unprofessional. You can add a split payment method on their website which is what I did and when I went to check out they were clueless as to how to close the contract and properly charge me and acted annoyed as if it made it difficult for them now that I added a split payment method. Even though it’s available on their site they did not want to deal with closing me out on two cards. Like I told them. It’s your website own it. Don’t make the customer feel like an inconvenience very very unprofessional on your part Avis. Then when I confronted them they did not take ownership but blamed “corporate”. Ownership how about ownership? They are clueless people of that and customer service is a stranger to them. Do better Avis.
