Avis Car Rental

This location is very disappointing. I reserved a car but when I arrived to pick up the car, they told me there were no cars available and they couldn’t help me. They said I’d have to go somewhere else. More professional rental car locations will book you a rental with a competitor if they run out of cars. This location wouldn’t offer me any option for a car. I understand mix-ups can happen, but a bare minimum standard of service should be to contact me before I arrived so I can figure out an alternative. If you can rent somewhere else, I’d recommend doing that.

Be prepared to spend at least 30 minutes during the check-in and drop-off process (if you want a receipt). There was only one person handling everything, and she was unprofessional and very inefficient. She typed with one finger and continuously made typos, which resulted in asking me to take out my card and license multiple times. The car itself, though it was a model only one year earlier, drove like it was 15 years old and seemed to be in very poor internal condition and wasn't cleaned properly (found an in-n-out wrapper in the car door). I had scheduled my pickup time for 8:00 a.m. and the drop-off for 4:00 p.m. Unfortunately, I encountered unexpected traffic, causing me to arrive at the drop-off location at 4:20 p.m. To my surprise, I discovered that the site now closes at 4:00 p.m. instead of the previously advertised 5:00 p.m. closing time. Due to the early closure and the location not offering after-hours drop-off options, I had no choice but to keep the vehicle overnight and return it the following morning when the site reopened at 8:00 a.m. This inconvenience resulted in a $15 late fee, even though the car wouldn't have been leased to another customer then; it simply remained parked at my house and was promptly returned once the location reopened. I had the most wonderful experience at this location! In business, customer service is everything and I couldn't feel better about renting a car from this location! I rented the Prius for almost twenty days and unfortunately the original location (not the location for which I'm writing a review) did not have a rental available for me at the time so I simply called this location and asked if they had something available. In fact they did have a vehicle available and they were able to transfer my contract from the first location. I highly recommend taking a Prius if it's available as I was seriously getting 50 miles per gallon!

Long story short, this location/Avis who allows it are terrible. They are basically stealing money without any real guidelines/rules. Save yourself time, headache, money, and rent somewhere else. Long story. I rented a Dodge Durango for $380 to transport family and friends around as I had just returned from a overseas deployment. First, when renting I saw a sign noting that if you have a dog, or trash the car and get hair, trash in the car it’s a $250 charge.
