Avis Car Rental

We are trying to leave for vacation today. My husband arrived at the New Bedford airport Avis to pick up our 7 passenger rental and Noone was there. The police officers there said no one had been there all day and other customers had been coming to pick up their cars as well. No one answered the phone so my husband called customer service. He talked with four people. One said just wait maybe someone will show up. The next said no cars where available in the area. The next said "im just customer service. I can't do anything" Finally the fourth person said she could get us the same rental in providence ri but there was no where to leave our car there so we had to get a second driver to bring our car back home. I had reserved a car a month ago, went to pick it up only to find a sign at the counter saying they're closed for the week, and to call customer service to find the next nearest location. I was never contacted about the week-long closure, and when I called customer service and jumped through hoops to talk to an actual person, they told me I should go to North Attleboro, 45 minutes away. No thanks, I cancelled the reservation and will not book with them again.

I rent cars all the time for my business, and I can honestly say Charlene at the Avis in New Bedford Airport is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. She is always extremely organized, pleasant, and genuinely cares about her customers. Every time I walk in, she goes the extra mile to make sure my rental experience is smooth and positive. I’ve rented from a lot of different places, but the customer service Charlene provides is truly exceptional. Highly recommended!

The worst experience I was a good customer and got treated very poorly in then end Rented for 2 years never a problem now I can't get Noone to help me. Rude people answer phones when I call noone will get me to who I need to speak to.

I needed a rental car while my truck was being fixed. I had researched local rental places and this location seemed to have the best pricing. I couldn't figure out how to book online (it wasn't accepting my payment) so I went in to the location. Betty was working at the counter and was extremely helpful. At that moment, they didn't have the vehicle I preferred, but was planning on working with me to give me a temporary rental until a truck was returned. She made some phone calls and learned that a truck was returned early, and had it all set up for me within 15 minutes. She also helped me navigate the booking.
