2050 New Hyde ParkRoad, New Hyde Park,NY 11040 is not an Actual Avis staffed location. Picked up a Rental Car on 11/12/25 and was expecting a KIA SOUL And got a Mazda CX50 which turned out to be a nightmare as a short while into the drive a Prompt which read SERVICE DUE SOON appeared. I panicked as I was on a busy highway with heavy traffic and I drove at 45 miles an hour and did not reach my intended destination that night and missed my 50th anniversary High School Reunion and on the return of the Rental on Monday the Employee of this Location who was the guy who gave me this car was told about Service due soon issue and he downplayed it by saying the vehicle needed an oil change and after the return I asked him to write on the receipt about the SERVICE DUE SOON issue. I’m a regular customer at Avis Car Rental, and Ronnie and Amit were both amazing to work with. They were friendly, professional, and made the whole process quick and easy. Their excellent service keeps me coming back.

If you are renting a vehicle go to an actual Avis . They didn’t have the vehicle when I arrived it’s smelly not an actual Avis rental car. It is an actual gas station and their customer is as bad as the smell. Don’t bother.

I decided to pick up the car at local location however the condition of the car left much to be desired. Besides the fact I had to personally go retrieve the car myself, I was not pleased with the cleanliness of the car. ( The Kia they initially offered smelled like smoke 😒). A white Corolla unwashed and unvacummed. Stained cup holders right behind the gear shift topped with some garbage left behind by the previous guest. I assumed during the current corona virus pandemic extra precautions were set in place to ensure cleanliness of each vehicle. That proved not to be true. Luckily I had sanitizer wipes and used my entire pack in order to clean the surfaces prior to use. I'm hoping I do not get sick. My brother called ahead to rent a car and when he got there he was told there were no cars available. When he asked the woman at the desk why she didn't state that over the phone she just ignored him. Unprofessional and rude establishment.
