Showed up with a guaranteed reservation, only to be told there were no cars available. No apology, no explanation, just a cold “you’ll have to wait.” So we waited. And waited. For over an hour. Staff barely acknowledged us, let alone offered any alternatives or updates. The vibe was just… off. No courtesy, no effort to make things right. Eventually got a car, which was clean and fine but by then, the damage was done. The whole experience was frustrating and soured the start of our trip. Avis Budget, do better.

Rented a car for 4 days, car refused to start 2nd day. I am still stuck in a broken car 2hrs drive from NOLA in Ocean Springs in natural Reserved car park and waiting for support for 3h. Towing car arrived after 4 hours after calling help line. The first ticket for help was not created, only after my follow up call did I find about that…and in 45min towing car arrived. I will never rent a car from Avis or Budget.

Absolutely worst experience ever from start to well beyond finish. Booked an SUV for October. Our car wasn’t ready for 4 hours after our reservation. They kept saying they didn’t have a car available- even though the reservation was made well in advance. What is the point of a reservation if you don’t hold up your end of it? Also should have made arrangements to ensure you could fulfill the reservation. Once they finally got a car, it was a huge downgrade from the one we booked, as it was a sedan. The girls at the office said they couldn’t do anything to price adjust and we would need to deal with it after the booking was complete. We lost out a day of vacation and could not carry all the passengers needed. We called multiple times. At first we were told we would be refunded a day of the

We had a confirmed reservation with Avis to pick up a car. When we arrived, we were told the vehicle would not be available for at least an hour and that we needed to be placed on a waitlist. They could not guarantee when — or even if — we would receive a car. What was most disappointing was the attitude. The front desk agent and the manager seemed completely indifferent. The message was essentially: “Wait if you want, or don’t.” No solutions. No effort. No urgency. We ended up walking a few blocks to Enterprise. Even though they also had limited availability and we did not have a reservation there, their team went above and beyond — calling other locations until they found a car for us. Reserved a rental car. Upon showing up 15 minutes before my scheduled pickup time, I was greated by an disengaged employee who had no customer service which can be due to training so can't blame the employee, however the car was not available and the person told me it would be 30 minutes to an hour to wait for a car to be returned and become available. I was among many other people having the same issue. After waiting for an hour and a half the I asked the employee who seemed irritated I was even asking the question and said it would be an additional 30-60 minutes possibly longer. There were cars there on the lot but they were not willing to accommodate or even upgrade as the car reserved was to be dropped off at the airport.
