Avis Car Rental

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a car rental company. First, the man behind the counter was clearly high as a kite. Second, there was a misunderstanding on using a debit card versus a credit card, but we figured it out. Then we went to get the rental car and I stated the one he assigned me was not the one I wanted or rented (the one I rented was right next to the one he was giving me). He slammed the keys on the counter and asked which one I wanted. I explained it was the Ford Mach E not the Chevy bolt. They are both electric cars and he lied to me and told me it takes 48 hours to charge that car so it is not available. So please explain to me how a person can rent a vehicle for 24 hours and charge it for 48 hours to return it within that same 24 hour time frame. Also d

Avoid!!! Go to enterprise. Paying in full 2 days before rental with a major credit card, following all of their policies, arriving on time to your reservation does not guarantee you a rental. I ubered there because they do not accommodate overnight parking.They said they could not swipe the alternative card I made available to re secure my rental, for another 24 hours. Leaving me stranded. Would not refund. Gave me a pamphlet and told me to call corporate to plead my case. Horrible customer service + policies = drive the extra 10 minutes to Enterprise.

Horrible customer service! Was handed my credit card and license back when the clerk asked me if I was leaving my vehicle there and I said yes. He was going to refuse to do business with me just because I said I was going to leave my car there. This person has absolutely no business talking to customers.. I asked to speak to the manager, he handed me a business card with the name Derek Cox on it. When I tried to call Derek Cox, the same rude man I was dealing with at the counter answers the number to Derek Cox. I will never rent anything from this place again.

I booked a 7-pax van in May and got a Kia Carnival that has hands free driving technology which was great. The gentleman at the counter was polite and the rental went as smoothly as expected. The only reason I took off one star is that the van was dirty inside, had lots of crumbs, etc. which was tolerable for me but may not be for other renters, so be aware.

***AVOID AVOID AVOID*** Updating after speaking to corporate, the charges were not their fault, but the way the handled it and treated us is absolutely their fault. We ordered a rental in the app and set up pickup for 15 minutes later. We decided because we were driving past it and made a spur of the moment decision to spend money at that business. As a business you would think that would be a huge victory. Instead we were treated like we were bothering them. Once arriving the guy expressed his displeasure that we gave them our business and even turned around In front of us and told the other worker to never take a rental that came through quick again.
