Avis Car Rental

I had an extremely positive experience with Avis South Bend. After having trouble with my car I picked up at Midway I arrived looking for an AWD SUV during some pretty decent weather. We were helped by Bimal who could not get us a car right away but told us he'd have one in 2 hours. He gave us a number to text and sure enough the car was ready! He was reponsive, kind, helpful and understanding. I really appreciate the above and beyond work he did to fix another locations problem.

Mohammad made my rental experience seamless. He was professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly, getting me on the road quickly without making it feel rushed. The car was clean, ready to go, and exactly what I needed. Excellent service all around. If you rent here, ask for Mohammad.

2 stars because we got the vehicle that we reserved, but that's bare minimum. The vehicle smelled of smoke, so bad that we had to get a car freshener to try and cover up the smell. the heat on the drivers side didn't work (looked it up some motor/relay), it was a cold week, fortunately the rest of the vehicle heat worked so we made do, but still not comfortable. about 10 miles down the road the oil change due light came on, why would you rent a vehicle that is due for an oil change? (I reset it bc I wasn't dealing with that warning for 6 days). when picking up and returning the people at the counter gave the impression that they would rather be doing anything than helping me. This is just poor customer service. Overall not a good experience with Avis.

Was sent to this location by Avis corporate when the SUV I was renting had issues for a replacement vehicle. Manager said no cars available and told me to come back 2 hours later so I did. At that time manager told me still no cars. He never took my name or looked up my contract until I insisted on documenting my attempt at exchanging a damaged vehicle. I wasted 4 hours on this. Dude just did not care...as it was not their vehicle. Glad I kept my cool. this "manager" needs to put back on the lot to wash and clean the rentals as his customer service skills are non existent.

!! AVOID AT ALL COST!! I was told by another Avis location that the South Bend airport location is under new management so it "should" be better now. Not at all!! As an Avis Prefferred member I asked for a vehicle by bay number and was told with an attitude by the male representative that he is not going to do that. He would have to go outside and get the key and have to get the vehicle ready and he's not doing that. So we proceeded with his initial selection. When I get to the vehicle they had "ready" for me, it was not cleaned and ready, then when I started the vehicle I was greeted with maintenance & oil change required. I thought this car was checked, prepped & ready to go? So I come back inside only to be told lies on why I can't get another vehicle in the same class, rather I still h
