Avis Car Rental

If you are renting with a corporation or with FEMA, I would strongly recommend using another rental car agency. While responding to a disaster this agency charged me an extra $1200 which I personally had to pay myself. I practically live in rental cars and have never had this issue with Hertz. National travel even said Avis/Budget were least likely to work with you on extensions and relocations on emergency travel. Enterprise Rental Car always did what they could when it came to disaster travel and FEMA employees.

In a trip filled with a delayed flight into Worcester, that caused us to arrive after 6pm and cancelled flight home, having to extend my trip and hotel stays and more poor customer service calls and interactions than I care to get into - there was only 1 person on my entire trip who showed any real compassion, understanding, and concern and that was Jason from Avis/Budget at the Worcester,. I have worked in the customer service industry for years and I will say that not only did Jason handle a flood of customers at his counter with speed and efficiency, he also still maintained his professionalism, courtesy and was an absolute ambassador for the location and the Avis/Budget brand. During the most chaotic time of the year, my Hyundai’s engine blew on November 18th. My dad and I had to figure out a way for me to get around until my car is fixed. We live a few miles from the Worcester Regional Airport so we decided to go there to see what our car rental options were. Jason Holihan was exceptionally amazing. He was quick, answered all of our questions, gave us the best rate he could find, followed up with us, and overall super kind person. He is one of the general managers and I can see why! If I could afford to give him a bonus, I would do so in a heartbeat. Usually these situations can become stressful but this couldn’t have been a smoother process. Convenience, pricing, selection. Avis allowed us to drive across country, 1 way without tacking on exorbitant one way fees as was the case with ALL of the other rental companies. These convenience fees (penalties) were hundreds of dollars,2- to 3 times as much as the fee for the vehicle. I couldn't even get a fair price through AAA. Additionally, we were able to take the dog with no additional charge as long as we tidied up the vehicle upon return. A good vacuum and we were set! I will be a loyal Avis user from here on.

I reserved an SUV a month in advance for a family ski vacation. The day before I called to see if I could pick the car up a little earlier than planned. At this time, the customer service representative told me that he wouldn't have an SUV on the lot for me to pick up. Considering that I was taking my family of 5 on a ski trip to Canada, having an SUV was essential, and I had specifically requested it. He offered no solutions other than a small sedan and said they never guarantee a specific car. I requested the manager's number, but when I called the number it wasn't even in service. If I could give this place zero stars I would.
