Backyard Mechanic

Wife has gone to backyard mechanic for several car repairs. I had several things wrong with my 2004 dodge grand caravan with 280k miles on it, sounds like a new car after he fixed all the issues that were identified. Prices are unbeatable, extremely honest, and communicated about what was being found and cost to replace throughout process. 10/10 recommend.

We live several hours from the cities, but our vehicle had a seized brake issue that made it suddenly undrivable in downtown St. Paul on a Saturday evening (before a holiday). We tried several mechanic options based on our location and Google maps. Backyard Mechanic was the first real person to call me back. He picked up the part(s) we needed and drove them to where we were stuck. He worked until he got us roadworthy to make it home. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and skilled with the vehicle issue. He charged a fair price. Most importantly, he showed up and saved the day when we really needed help. Would highly, highly recommend.

I stumbled upon “Backyard Mechanic” after a Google search and I’m so thankful I did! We recently left our Honda Civic in to get the rear brakes replaced and the brake line fixed. Darren did a wonderful job for a more affordable price! He is fair and honest, and a great communicator. I can’t speak highly enough! 10 stars! Best mechanic hands down. Honest and fair. I was in town from Chicago for a wedding and my starter went out. Darren had me in and out in just a few hours! I was able to enjoy the wedding weekend and make it home no sweat! I wish I lived in the area I would never use another mechanic! I experienced an issue I believed to be a dead battery and was 40 miles from home. I called AAA and found the "dead battery was a broken starter. It was the start of 4th of July weekend. I could not find help from auto repair businesses for 3-4 days. I contacted Backyard Mechanics at approx 3:00 pm and he took my car in, and completed repairs within 24 hours at a very reasonable price. The quality of the job appears to be excellent! I would heartily recommend this service.
