We had four feet of water damage from Hurricane Helene back in September and immediately put in a claim. It took weeks for their adjuster to get back to us so I hired my own and all of sudden he had to be there that night. Fast forward 6 months and still nothing. My adjuster stated that this company has been a "nightmare" to work with and every single case he took on during Helene and Milton has been paid out except by this insurance company. Meanwhile, FEMA has denied my appeals for help on the grounds that I cannot provide proof I'm not receiving help from this insurance company with housing since they refuse to complete the claim in a timely manner. We were flooded with three feet of water by Helene in Sept 2024 that destroyed the inside of our home in mid-florida on the Gulf Coast. Bankers is quibbling over the funds needed to repair our home to what it was and wants us to accept just over half of what we contracted with them for. I hear the same thing from everyone in this region: the insurance companies are short-changing everyone. If they are backed by FEMA, why is this so? I just renewed with them because I'm required to by law, but why should I when they won't honor their contract? I'm calling my senators and Representatives to urge them to force these companies to do the right thing. FEMA had billions of dollars for illegals but none for us?

Bankers Insurance Group underwrites warranties for companies like Empire Today (Flooring) and others. They are aka Centricity/Centricity Services, Inc. If you are offered a warranty from a company, look at the end of the brochure in the fine print. If any of the aforementioned companies are listed, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY buying their coverage. This company is a rubber stamp denier. This is a tactic designed to make the consumer just give up in exasperation, like in the movie The Rainmaker. Take the money you would have thrown away on this grifting company and save it in case there is a needed repair.

This company is crap. We have a flood policy, 250k coverage, over 50k in Flood damage, they took 4.5 months to pay 5k.. no one answers phones, and when they finally do they don’t know anything. Worst company I’ve ever dealt with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I’m done with them and FEMA both are useless and a scam.
