I bought my brand new car in May. The salesman was not professional so I had to just deal with the sales manager and the finance manager and then everything was fine. Today I had an appointment at 8:15am for its first oil change entire rotation. The guy said it would take about an hour. Brought my car in for a recall. I left being told the recall was fine but needed 16,000 dollars worth of work. That included a new transmission. Took my car to a local mechanic and the transmission was fine. Slight leak he patched for free. Still great after over a year since that appointment at Berlin.

On April 11, 2025, I brought my vehicle in to have the snow tires changed over to all-season tires—and nothing else. Prior to this appointment, I had already called the service department on three separate occasions dating all the way back to 2023, to ensure that no complimentary multipoint inspections would be performed on my vehicle. I made it explicitly clear each time that only the scheduled work was to be done, and that no additional inspections were to take place under any circumstances. Despite all of this, a multipoint inspection was still performed—just as Berlin City has repeatedly done in the past, ignoring my requests for nearly two years. Berlin City Honda of South Portland Service Department took my daughter’s car in for a driveshaft recall, thought it was necessary to take apart the ball joint to replace the driveshaft, then damaged the ball joint and knuckle in the process. They then documented that it was damaged upon arrival. If the car was damaged when it came in, and they knew they needed to take apart the damaged parts to replace the part that we originally came in for, why would they not have called me to tell me it was damaged and asked me if I wanted them to proceed? There was no courtesy call to explain this. The part they replaced came loose/broke before we even drove it off their lot. We called them back to explain this, and then I got the runaround. Had a noon appointment for oil change, tire rotation and vehicle inspection. Was told it may be a couple of hours because they are busy. Arrived 20 minutes early and at 1:50 car still outside the building. Advisor saying that noontime is their busiest times. Maybe they should book a little less for that time slot if so. Left without service as we had other pending appointments for the day.
