Budget Car Rental

I would like to give this a no star review. As this unfortunately was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. I am expressing my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent experience with Budget Rentals. I prepaid to reserve a vehicle in which was done to ensure my daughter and her fellow dancers would have transpertation and team gear for their dance compition for their nationals. I received a same-day confirmation for pickup, and arrived at the location as scheduled—only to be told there was no vehicle available and that staff did not know when one would be available. Leaving me stuck at an airport with no transportation for team gear or fellow dancers. We reserved a vehicle in advance and upon arrival were told there were no cars available. We were placed on a waiting list and told we would receive a call we never did. It has now been several days of calling and following up ourselves, and there is still no vehicle available and no clear resolution. Each time we reach out, we are simply told “sorry,” with no timeline, no urgency, and no compensation offered. This left us stranded at the airport and scrambling to find alternative transportation, while other companies also had no availability. The lack of accountability, communication, and customer care is extremely disappointing. If you cannot guarantee reservations, that needs to be communicated upfront. I rented a car in Flint this week and had a great experience. I told the rental agent (Tyler) what I was in town for and that I had some specific needs for my car. I trusted his expertise and he gave us the most perfect car. It met our every need. It was clean, it was nice, it was spacious and very very comfortable. The rental/return process was easy and Tyler and Chiquita were both very kind, professional, and prompt. Thank you!

We reserved and paid for a van, but were given a midsize suv because no van was available. Prices were the best around, but the vehicle had issues all 4 days we had it. We had to pump up 1 tire 3 times a day. Budget reps did not care. And it had 2 other dashboard warning lights on continuously, budget reps did not care. They would not even give us any type customer discount on a future rental for all the crap we dealt with. Another rental company gets my business the next time.

Reserved and pre-paid for a rental car on October 31st. Arrived today to Flint on Christmas Eve only to be told there were no rental cars available. How does a company allow that to happen to people at Christmas? When I called to request a refund to try to come up with a backup plan, the Budget rep said that they could request a full refund for me, but it would be up to Budget if they gave me all my money back...or not...in 3-10 business days. Why would I be penalized because you had no available cars? And honestly, no one really cared I had no car, lol...Worst Christmas ever....and I'm thousands of miles from home :(
