Budget Car Rental

One of the worst rental car pickup experiences I have ever had. I rented this car well ahead of time and everything seemed fine initially when picking it up. They then informed me that their scanner was declining my driver’s license, and gave no reason why this was the case. They then insinuated the license was tampered with or fraudulent, which is laughably unacceptable and unprofessional to even suggest. The best they could offer was that the license might be scratched which is also ridiculous as the license scanned without any issues at multiple other locations during the trip. They offered no apologies or recourse, and refused to escalate the issue or input the license manually. I had a prepaid reservation booked through Priceline. I confirmed at pick-up that everything was prepaid and that there would not be any additional charges, so I was surprised after returning home from my trip to see an additional charge on my credit card. My receipt showed an additional fuel service charge even though I had returned the car with a full tank. It took me over 40 minutes on the phone to get this fraudulent charge refunded. Make sure to save gas receipts, take a picture of the gas gauge showing full when you return the car, and review your credit card statement for any unexpected fraudulent charges from Budget.

Rented a car 2 months ahead of time for our trip to Steamboat. We arrived early and did have to wait " for the vehicle to be cleaned", which it was not. Was provided a Wrangler with bald tires and a death wobble . Was told they didn't have any other vehicles. Unfortunately we were forced to drive this vehicle that was unfit . Couldn't go over 45 mph without severe shaking. Promised a refund in full, yet Budget plays games and is only wanting to refund half. Had to pay for local transportation as Budget would not provide a solution. All this despite being promised a refund from the lady at the counter. We travel monthly , and always rent vehicles. First and Last time with Budget.

I chose a mid size rental and was given a 4WD Jeep Wrangler. It exceeded my expectations largely. It was clean, fun to drive and made the weekend in Steamboat a memorable one for me and my wife.

Very happy with my experience renting from here. My flight was very delayed because of snowstorm in Hayden, and did not get in until after 11 PM, two hours after their advertised closing time. But they stay open until all of the flights arrive. I was also slow to get out of the airport because I had to deal with Southwest losing one of my bags. But the lady from the Budget counter came over to check in with me to make sure the car was OK before she went home for the night! The rental I reserved was a full-sized SUV, which in reality was a Kia Telluride that had AWD and all-season tires, even though those features were not explicitly advertised when I made the reservation. It handled fine with heavy snow in Steamboat.
