Budget Car Rental

Budget took 2.5 hours to find and provide vehicles to our group. We had a reservations for five vehicles. Additionally, we were charged additional fees in violation of the contract. I had to call in to get these fees addressed. I was willing to overlook these issues... But you lost me at the vehicle return. I just returned the vehicle and was charged to refill the tank. I rented it at full, and returned it at the same level (had the fill-up receipt with me). Photos attached to show pickup and dropoff odometer with fuel gauge. Seems I need to call in to get another issue addressed. As you can see from the other reviews, this is a rather substandard rental company. Be forewarned.

Don't book Avis, Budget or Payless. All they guarantee you in the contract is a vehicle, but not the time you book it. Plus, they send you to valet for pickup but they have to go to their back lot to get it upon your arrival (not your booking arrival). The car is not on the main lot or the vehicle has to be cleaned. Which both result in you waiting at valet. Your car isn't waiting for you as it should be, but instead you are waiting for you car. And you aren't the only one, others are also waiting for their cars. Either they are understaffed or under vehicled. You won't know how long you have to wait. People before us waited 2 hrs before we even arrived. If you want to waste your time and money, book Budget Avis or Payless. This was our experience, never booking again.

UPDATE: After renting a car twice from Budget Jacksonville International Airport for the same visit (see below for the whole story), and not being allowed to drive one off the lot due to their Jacksonville Airport site rules apparently are different from their corporate website. The lady I spoke with on the phone AT THE AIRPORT actually suggested we have my daughter rent it (I asked... my daughter in the wheelchair?) but no her fiance cannot be a second driver... HMMM does this not sound right to anyone but me??? Did they just want me to pay three times for no car??? FORTUNATELY, SIXT at JAX GETS A 10 STAR!!! They took care of my kids! Reserved a vehicle weeks in advance. Arrived at the airport to find that they were all out of vehicles. There was only 1 person on the booth and the manager was cleaning the cars because there were no employees. They offered me to a smaller vehicle which I accepted. When the manager brought the first vehicle she stated that the vehicle a kia wasn’t safe so she was going to give us another one. Then she placed us on a VW atlas which we took and just a day later the vehicle stopped working. It did not shifted out of parking. Roadside picked it up 2 hours later. Lucky for us this happened at the hotel not while we were out on business. We had to uber the entire day. Long story short we were told that we could retrieve a new vehicle which we couldn’t because we were working. Next day we take a

BEWARE! No complaints at all during rental experience besides the Nissan Rogue that we recieved may have been on one its final rides. Engine clicked like it had 200k on it but still got amazing mpg. Everything went pretty smooth until 6 days after returning the vehicle I recieved a letter and an email stating I was being charged 450 for a cleaning fee... mind you, the rental alone for the week was less costly. Defintely sparked my annoyance but spoke to customer service and after reviewing pictures taken, refunded charges to lack of evidence in the picture submitted as it was blurry. #Ponzi I won't rental from Budget/Avis again but if you decide to... take photos and be aware. BUDGET. BE BETTER. ;)
